On the Worship of Complexity and the Misunderstanding of Simplicity
In our contemporary world, there seems to be a growing phenomenon unconsciously inhabiting minds: the adoration of complexity and the disdain for simplicity
The more obscure the speech, the greater the aura. The more difficult a person appears to be to understand, the greater the prestige. Conversely, the closer someone approaches us in understandable language, descending from the heights of terminology to the ground of the common people, the more we classify them as "ordinary," or perhaps "naive."
But is complexity truly a sign of depth ?
And is simplicity truly the opposite of solid understanding ?
Simplicity is not superficial, but rather an extension of profound understanding
The most profound thinkers in history were not those who wrote incomprehensible texts, but rather those who were able to condense philosophy into a single line and explain the most complex concepts in childlike language. Einstein didn't say, "The theory of relativity is based on differential mathematical transformations that only specialists understand He simply said Time is relative it passes differently depending on the movement
This is the depth of genius: to understand something enough to simplify it
Why do we sanctify complexity ?
It may be due to what has been ingrained in our subconscious: that "mysterious is elitist and that "difficult equals greatness
In societies that value a person based on their appearance and elevate the incomprehensible, complexity becomes a symbol of value, even if it carries no real meaning
That's why some people prefer to dazzle people with terms they don't understand rather than truly understand them
Mystery can hide weakness, not strength
In some cases, complexity is merely a mask for incomplete understanding or an empty idea
It's very easy to speak a language that's incomprehensible, but it's difficult to understand.
Here, we must redefine our definition of depth Depth is not measured by the amount of ambiguity, but by your ability to create impact
A Call to Redefine Value
Value is not in what we don't understand, but in what can make a difference The products that changed the world weren't the most complex, but rather the simplest to use The ideas that transformed humanity weren't those that took years to understand, but rather those that touched people from the first glance
Let us free ourselves from this mental shackle
Being clear doesn't mean you're superficial Explaining simply doesn't mean you're inferior Use of human language doesn't mean you're far from intellectual heights
Finally Genius lies not in obscurity... but in impactful clarity
In a time when appearances overwhelm substance, we need voices that restore balance Be one of these Be the person who understands and is understood The one who creates complexity when necessary and simplifies when necessary The one who measures himself not by the length of sentences, but by the depth of impact
> Think about the value of what you say, not the complexity of what you say
